  • Mike Dixon Published in Air Pollution Control Magazine

The EPA is a busy bunch these days. But what are they doing exactly? In a new article published in Air Pollution Control magazine, Mike Dixon asks the question, "Is EPA shaping U.S. energy policy?"
He examines recent rules and process mandates and the resulting implications.

Dixon Environmental’s 2011 1st quarter newsletter includes updates on Final Boiler Rules as well as EPA’s request for comments on the President’s Executive Order to "Improve Regulation and Regulatory Review" and NSPS and NESHAP for Petroleum Sector RTR. We also cover proposed updates on EPA’s GHG reporting program and software and its stay on Title V permits affecting CMAS facilities. A case study detailing our Compliance Assessment with the CMAS GACT at a Chemical Manufacturing Facility and our innovative new solution for managing compliance and controlling HAPs at major and minor sources are also highlighted.

Companies are also using the EMS as an important tracking tool and attempting to incorporate flexible permitting solutions to reduce the risk of future deviations.

  • Final Rule - Area Source GACT Standards

On October 29, 2009 the EPA issued the final rule imposing Area Source Generally Available Control Technology (GACT) standards for the control of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) at chemical manufacturing facilities that are minor HAP sources. The final rule was substantially revised from the proposal in large part due to a technical study conducted by Dixon Environmental on behalf of the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA)...

  • New MON Resource Center Content

Following the finalization and implementation of the Miscellaneous Organic NESHAP (MON) at major HAP sources, the EPA has turned its attention to minor sources of HAP and issued three (3) new rules. Recognizing the expansion of facilities subject to HAP control requirements, Dixon Environmental has made key changes to its award-winning MON Resource Center. These changes include:
