Utilizing our extensive knowledge and experience of Environmental Data Management in the polymer and resin industry, Dixon established a VOC and HAP equipment LDAR program for fugitive emissions at two plants.
The elements of the program included:
Defining Hardware/Software Requirements — A variety of hardware and software options were evaluated for facilities to determine their site-specific needs. Factors such as staffing resources, reporting requirements, number of components, and cost constraints were considered.
Database Development — An accurate inventory of all components was keyed to P&ID’s, which was essential to implementing successful LDAR programs. Data on the component type, process stream, distinct equipment identification number, and the equipment location were entered using a portable data terminal.
Field Tagging — Trained technical personnel accomplished the required component tagging. Existing P&IDs were marked to account for field tagging observations. CAD revisions of P&IDs were made to show component identifications numbers.
Monitoring — Utilizing the installed software and component identification system, components were monitored initially and on a routine basis. Reports were generated to comply with applicable regulations.
To finish the project, training was provided for the hardware and software system, including the delivery of user manuals and training manuals.
