Example 2 - Staff Support: Dixon Environmental is currently providing a refinery with a full-time person to assist with quarterly and annual emissions reports for NOx budget, quarterly and annual emissions statements, SARA 313 compliance, and other needs as they arise. The facility has a large number of emissions sources: boilers, crude heaters, and numerous stacks, for which an electronic Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) transmits a variety of compliance data including NOx, O2, CO2, oil, and gas flow. The CEMS must be calibrated daily, and valid substitute data must then be entered for the calibration period and for any failed calibrations. Valid data from the CEMS and additional data from laboratory test results are transferred to spreadsheets and run through work tables in order to calculate reportable air emissions. Emission numbers are transferred to regulatory forms, assembled with the appropriate documentation, and sent to the corporate environmental department and/or the regulatory agency, as appropriate. Accuracy and attention to detail are necessary when working with and transferring large quantities of regulatory data. Dedicating a person to this task minimizes the likelihood of interruptions and opportunities for error, and will allow you to devote more time to your other pursuits.

Example 3 - Compliance Management Tools: Dixon Environmental has developed a database compliance tool that we will customize to your facility in order to streamline your compliance reporting. Having all of your compliance requirements available electronically makes completing your Title V Compliance Certification and periodic MACT compliance report easy, or at least, easier... By selecting and clicking a Dixon Environmental preprogrammed search query for the appropriate MACT report, you will be presented with a screen listing all of the applicable requirements. For example, a requirement may be to identify the number of times your Thermal Oxidizer operating temperature fell below the destruction efficiency temperature. Listed with this requirement is the party responsible for this information and the location of the information at the facility. Each new requirement shows the same key information, telling you exactly where to go and what needs to be included in the report.
