Air Quality Management - Regulatory Compliance Planning
Polymers Manufacturer
Dixon Environmental enabled a leading polymers manufacturer evaluate their air regulatory compliance status and to breathe easier. Dixon Environmental provided a regulatory assessment of the manufacturing facility and evaluated each proposed piece of new equipment and each new processing unit for applicability of air quality regulations including the Hazardous Organic NESHAP (HON), Subparts F, G and H; New Source Performance Standards (NSPS), Subparts Kb, VV, RRR, and NNN; and National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) Part 61 (including Benzene Waste Operations NESHAP). Dixon Environmental’s Applicability Assessment documented each regulation and illustrated equipment applicability with decision flow diagrams that enabled the client to easily see exempt units, and those that had compliance needs. Tables were also included that clearly showed, for each piece of process equipment unit, the detailed control, monitoring, record-keeping and reporting requirements. Issues with overlapping standards were also resolved and incorporated into regulatory compliance schemes that were presented to the state agency.
By choosing to work with Dixon Environmental early on in the compliance strategy development this client benefited from:
- Clear and accurate direction to achieve compliance on a complex multifaceted project,
- The identification of unique, site specific opportunities for maintaining operating flexibility,
- A cost effective approach to use compliance implementation,
- The incorporation of efficiencies and economies of scale, and
- Streamlined on-going compliance record-keeping and reporting.
